Introduction to Agar.io

Agar.io is a massively multiplayer online game where players control a circular cell in a petri dish-like environment. The objective is to grow as large as possible by consuming smaller cells and avoiding larger ones. Simple yet highly addictive, Agar.io has become a staple of browser-based gaming since its release in 2015.

Gameplay Mechanics

Starting as a Small Cell

Each player begins as a small cell on a large grid filled with other players' cells, food particles, and viruses. Movement is controlled by the mouse, and the cell automatically follows the cursor. The game is straightforward: eat to grow, and avoid being eaten. To grow, players must consume smaller cells and the small, colored pellets (referred to as "food") scattered around the map. As your cell grows, it becomes slower, making it harder to avoid larger cells.

Split and Merge

Agar.io introduces strategic depth through the ability to split your cell into two smaller cells using the spacebar. This allows for quicker movement and the ability to capture smaller, faster-moving cells. However, splitting also leaves your cells vulnerable until they merge back together after a short time.

The Role of Viruses

Viruses are spiky green objects scattered across the map that play a crucial role in the game. Smaller cells can hide inside viruses to avoid being eaten, but if a larger cell collides with a virus, it will split into multiple smaller cells, making it a target for others.

Instructions

Free-for-All (FFA)

In Free-for-All mode, every player competes against each other with the goal of becoming the largest cell on the server. There are no teams, and survival depends on strategy, skill, and a bit of luck.

Teams

In Teams mode, players are randomly assigned to one of three teams: red, green, or blue. The objective is to help your team dominate the map by collaborating with teammates and outmaneuvering the other teams.

Experimental

Experimental mode introduces new features and mechanics that may not be present in the other modes. This is where developers test out potential updates and gather feedback from players.

Battle Royale

Agar.io's Battle Royale mode brings the popular last-man-standing gameplay to the world of cells. Players must survive while the playable area gradually shrinks, forcing confrontations and adding tension to the match.
